About me

Nice to meet you; I’m Robert “Bertie” Nelson (he/him).

I am a talent professional, adult educator, and certified executive coach currently based in Atlanta, Georgia.

The heart of my work is empowering individuals and teams to achieve and stretch beyond their full potential. A speaker of five languages, I bring a globally attuned, human-centered approach to coaching, facilitation, and leadership development. My expertise lies at the intersection of cross-cultural communication, organizational learning, and human performance improvement.

I’m known for my charismatic adaptability to diverse cultural and business contexts, from job sites to boardrooms around the world, and for guiding individuals and teams to measurable transformation. Past collaborations include DPR Construction, the U.S. Department of State, the CDC, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, and the Ministry of Education in Abu Dhabi. These followed more than a decade in university settings developing adult learning curricula and career coaching programs.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Rice University and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University. I am also a certified Instructional Designer and a certified Executive Coach. As a lifelong classical musician (Double Bass), I approach development the same way I approach performance: with focus, discipline, and passion.
